OUR FACILITIES
The following "Evaluation of Clinical Placement Setting" made by JoHanna Morse to Azusa Pacific University concerning the facilities and environment at our center offers an objective and unsolicited opinion of our site:L.I.F.E. Counseling Group is housed in the Canyon Professional Building in Monrovia. A conglomerate of five mental health organizations and various individual practitioners including MFTs, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Drug and Alcohol counselors, and LCSWs practice in the building. It is an ideal setting for therapists interested in the stimulation and support that is gained from a group of colleagues and for interns and trainees interested in learning how to operate a private practice. The waiting areas are comfortable and stocked with magazines. Refreshments are available. The restrooms are always clean. Parking is adequate, well lit and provides easy access to the building even to handicapped persons. Private counseling rooms are well lit and comfortable. They are decorated well and furnished with sofas, chairs, side tables, phones and locked filing cabinets. Classical or soft music is always played over the speakers in the hallway. This serves to keep conversations behind closed doors confidential. Well furnished play therapy rooms are available to all tenants. This setting is inviting to clients and therapist alike. A clinical library is available for the use of all tenants. A camcorder, TV and VCR are available for taping and reviewing sessions in supervision. Bulletin boards in the staff rooms display announcements for seminars, workshops and community resources. Newsletters are often posted as well.
